My Blog

I began experimenting with collage techniques after seeing a few inspiring pieces and wondering how they were created. As a photographer, I have often felt a desire to create unique "objects" but the nature of photography is one of infinite duplication. Without knowing it, I was looking for a means to introduce tangible evidence that my hands had created the image. I see collage as a way to move beyond photography to create one of a kind pieces of art.

Some of my early collage experiments are included in the Collage Gallery.  These early works evolved into my first series, Our President Speaks. These pieces are image transfer collages that illustrate some of the infamous quotes delivered by President Bush. One of the challenges of this series was selecting which quotes to use.

My current work explores various themes, such as gender roles and man's relationship with technology. I always try to interject humor into my work. When a piece makes me chuckle I know I have made something good.
