I have been shooting photographs since 1976.
During this time I have
worked in 35mm, 120, 4x5, and digital.
My early work was primarily black and white.
In recent years, with the advent of digital, I have been working in
color.
Most recently I have been experimenting with a Holga, a low-cost plastic camera that
uses 120 film.
Because of the Holga's low-cost and cheap manufacturing, it
lends a particular look to the images.
Often the results are happenstance which
is a refreshing change from the perfect nature of digital images.
There was a time when I considered a career as a photographer.
I attended Rochester Institute of Photography as a Photo Illustration
major and I have worked professionally as a
photojournalist and a wedding photographer.
Later I decided to pursue a career as a computer professional.
At the end of 2003, I created a calendar with photos that I took during the year.
I gave a few to family and friends as Christmas gifts.
The calendar proved to be very popular and each year I have added to my list of recipients.
I enjoy producing a useful and beautiful item that many people are using throughout the year and
I plan to continue this tradition.
